Up to now, I haven’t ever met a person who is not afraid of getting cancer at some point of his or her life. This fear is very often due to the general assumption that one is hopelessly surrendered to this horrible disease. Very unfortunately, for the lack of knowledge how to fight and beat cancer successfully still too many people succumb to cancer. For instance, if you knew that cancer cells can neither grow nor even exist in an alkaline environment, you would make sure that your diet is mainly alkaline. People who are diagnosed with cancer use to have a pH level of around 4 which is in many cases due to eating habits which include meat and diary products. This signals their diet is much more acid than alkaline which considerably favors the growth of cancer cells. However, did you know that cancer cells start to die at a pH-level of 7.5? So, setting your body in an alkaline environment which is achieved best by an organic plant-based diet means nothing else but sentencing cancer to death. Read on to learn more about this most effective weapon against cancer.
“I would like to introduce a friend of mine, Rebecca Maglionico. I have asked her to share with us, a personal family experience, with Cancer and an alkaline diet.
Thank you, Anya, for allowing me to share today how incredibly powerful PH levels in our bodies can be.
I would like to start by saying, I have lost many friends and family to Cancer (including the most devastating, my mom when I was 23, she was 53). So I’m sure you can imagine my debilitating fear when my older brother tried to lighten the blow of his cancer diagnosis.
When my brother was 38 he was diagnosed with Colon Cancer and was told he probably wouldn’t survive it. The doctors were shocked to find someone his age with this type of Cancer. With traditional treatment including Chemotherapy, radiation and having part of his colon removed, he did in fact beat Colon Cancer. He has said, healing from the “treatment” was more excruciating than the actual Cancer.
One year later, Cancer appeared in his scan again. This time, it was a tumor on his back that metastasized to his spine, and was weaving into his spinal column toward his brain. Along with this Cancer he also had Squamous Cell Carcinoma. More concerning was the rapid growing Cancer in his spine. There was no way to operate on it, and he would have had terrible symptoms when it reached his brain including: Seizures, Loss of balance or trouble walking, Vision/hearing or speech problems, Headaches that go away after vomiting. The doctors told him to go home and be with his family, there was nothing that could be done.
My brother has a son, (5 years old at the time) and he wasn’t going to accept that as an answer. Someone in my brother’s office suggested an upcoming retreat, that taught how to live a life of health and wellness. The problem was, it cost thousands of dollars for the weekend. A blessing, in the form of my brother’s boss, offered to pay and join my brother on the retreat. They both went to Hippocrates Health Institute located in West Palm Florida for the weekend. The instructors, for this particular retreat, were the best of the best in their specialty field.
Upon returning home, my brother started with the Gerson Therapy and an Alkaline diet. They compliment each other well.
The Gerson Therapy is based on the idea that Cancer develops when there are changes in the cell metabolism due to toxic build-up. Dr Gerson suggested people with Cancer have too much sodium and not enough potassium, which causes tissue damage and weakening of organs. The goal of this therapy is to restore the body to healthy, by repairing the liver and returning the metabolism to its normal state. This can be done through a specific organic diet, supplements and enemas to remove toxins and reboot cell metabolism. My brother had a list of foods that were low in sodium and high in potassium that he cross referenced with his alkaline diet. Mainly juicing raw ingredients for the majority of his daily caloric intake.
Alkaline vs acidic levels can be confusing because some think it refers to the actual PH level in the food itself. Some foods such as lemons and limes, are highly acid in their natural state but have an alkaline affect on the body. Alkaline diets involve eating minimal amounts of meat, dairy, white flour and white sugar due to their acidic affect on the body. Instead, focusing on fresh fruit and vegetables, nuts and soy products due to their alkaline affect on the body.”
