For the first time ever, the Dietary Guidelines Advisory Committee made the choice to give a recommendation regarding environmental sustainability by pointing out that a plant-based vegan diet has the lowest possible impact on the ecosystem while animal-based food wreaks havoc on the environment in the long run.
